The point here is to allow access only to the required places. And then all the three are connected, such that the people can access the temples and the granaries, but the granary can’t access the temple. Another interesting thing I’ve seen gamers do is divide the entire map into sections! One part of the map will only have houses, the other will only have entertainment hubs and temples, another will have all the markets and granaries.This way you’ll be sure none of the houses deteriorate, and your available workforce will be utilized to he maximum. When you have a lot of sections in your empire, let each section have different places of entertainment and religion.The concept is that with a lot of houses connected together, you can handle them as separate sections in your empire. Keep this ‘main road - sub-road’ combo short and small, with a max of 20 houses, or four branches. If the main road is too long and has too many branches, your citizens might keep strolling around this maze itself, and never reach places where labor is required. At the two ends of the main road, build your Senate and a market (figure 1). On these right and left “sub-roads”, you can build your actual houses, wells, gardens, etc. For example, from one main road, create a few more to the right and left. Build roads branched, so that you can access all of them easily later.
